The weather may not be too warm, but the flowers are in bloom and last Sunday we had the opportunity to attend Reeves-Reed Arboretum’s Daffodil Day.

It’s an annual Flower Power event with over 1,000 daffodils planted in the bowl. It was a beautiful day with tons of activities for the entire family. They had the pollunater toss, face painting, crafts, sunflower seed planting, dancing, and local artisans set up around the grounds. We loved going from activity to activity and learning about flowers and the environment. We missed the flower power parade due to nap time, but it’s on the list for us next year.

The best part was watching the kids in the flowers. They loved seeing them and walking around, or dancing to the music and just enjoying the moment. They even had a professional photographer there for snap your photo for a minimum fee.

I know this will become a family tradition for us and as the kids grow we’ll be able to do more of the activities around the Arboretum. What’s most important is they’ll have fond memories of walking in the bowl of daffodils, and stopping to smell the flowers.
There is a fee for the event, but at $10 per person or $25 for a family, the cost is so minimal to the memories and photo’s you get; or you can become a member of Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Then all events are free. So check your google maps because this amazing place may be closer then you think! I know we’re getting excited about registering for the Great American Backyard Campout in June, and we would love to see you there.
